Cordell Nursing and Rehab staff host Thanksgiving Dinner

Thankfulness, smiles, and plenty of delicious food were featured on Sunday, November 20th as Cordell Nursing and Rehab (CNR) hosted their Thanksgiving Dinner for their residents, family members, friends and staff. Residents, with the help of staff members, dressed in their Sunday best to enjoy the holiday celebration.

Attendees filled the common area and dining room with laughter and good company as many more filed in.

“We did our best to make the residents feel beautiful or handsome by choosing dress clothes and doing hair. They are so proud to greet families all dressed up. It is a beautiful sight,” expressed Cordell Nursing and Rehab Administrator Gail Wilcox.

This event took several weeks to prepare for with the decorations, invitations, and food organization being a team effort.

This year CNR served approximately 220 residents, friends, family members and staff.

In conjunction with the amount of sides and desserts, 32 turkeys were roasted.

This Thanksgiving Dinner was so much more than a meal, it was a chance to bring loved ones together and celebrate one another.

“The best part was witnessing the joy from the residents spending time with friends and loved ones. Nothing is better than that,” said Wilcox.
