Cordell Fire Department’s Halloween fundraiser will wrap up this weekend

The Cordell Volunteer Fire Department has brought the spirit of Halloween to Cordell once again with the production of their Haunted Morgue.

The Haunted Morgue is a two-story, multi room haunted house that invites visitors from all over to a fun and fright filled night.

With the help of Cordell firefighter Jason Dudgeon, The Cordell Beacon was able to tour The Haunted Morgue and see firsthand all their hard work and time spent to put on such an event.

While touring the morgue you’ll enter several scary and suspenseful rooms. The Haunted Morgue definitely puts a new spin on the term haunted house.

The Cordell Fire Department, along with the help from many including Mary Cook and the Cordell Police Department, opens The Haunted Morgue for all ages to enjoy.

“A lot of people go into helping run this and it’s a chance for the kids to get to meet us,” said Dudgeon.

Aside from the suspense and excitement, the Haunted Morgue also serves as a fundraising event for Cordell’s Volunteer Fire Department. All funds and donations raised at The Haunted Morgue go back into helping the fire department serve and protect the community as well as protect themselves with the proper gear and necessities needed.

“The support and donations we receive from the community really help us out,” said Dudgeon.

The Haunted Morgue will be open for it’s final weekend scare Friday, Oct. 29 though Halloween, Oct. 31, until the last attendees are through. Admission is$15 per person. For $40, you can get a Fast Pass that takes you right to the front of the line. Adults and children are welcome.
