Cordell Chamber plans ‘Twisters Day’ for movie premiere

Oklahomans are anxious to see the new movie ‘Twisters’ partly because it was filmed in the state and partly because the original ‘Twister’ movie is such a beloved classic.

Cordell’s Chamber of Commerce wants to enhance this movie-going experience by adding some special events to the opening day at Washita Theatre on July 20th.

Beginning at about 2:00 p.m. there will be vendors in the cave at the theater as well as outside on Market Street. Bingo games will start at 4:00 p.m., and storm chasers from W.O.W. (Western Oklahoma Weather) will be on hand talking to patrons about storm chasing and showing off their equipment.

The movie will begin at 7 p.m. Concessions will be available all day, and after 4 p.m. the Chamber will hold a fundraiser selling hotdog meals for $5.

W.O.W. is also fundraising through chances on a prize package of a year’s worth of Washita Theatre movie tickets.
