Now on the 12th day of June 2023, the County Commissioners in and for Washita County met in regular session with Chairman Goeringer calling the meeting to order.
Chairman Goeringer asked Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, for roll call. Roll call was answered by Gossen, present; Goeringer, present; Chandler, present. Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to sign the report of fees collected in the month of May for the following offices: Treasurer, County Clerk, Commissioners, Election Board, Assessor, Court Clerk, and Sheriff.

The Board opened Bid No. 2023-04 for the hazard mitigation plan update preparation. Bids were received from the following: L.E. Marshall Consulting -$25,000 for option 2 of preparation outside of a 6-month window; $55,000 for option 1 of preparation inside of a 6-month window. Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to award the bid, using option 2, to L.E. Marshall Consulting. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.
Phil Kliewer, Bruce Wesner, and Cheri Nabors representing the City of Cordell and Heather Flores representing the Cordell Beacon were present to discuss work on the flower beds by the road on each corner of the Courthouse square (bump outs) and a donation in the amount of $10,000 towards the $110,000 flower beds project. Motion made by Gossen seconded by Chandler to table a decision on this matter until June 26 th following the budget hearings for the county. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.
