The Cordell Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Hometown Celebration on Saturday, June 29th at Lee park. (HWY 183 & 2nd St.) This family-friendly event promises a day filled witha ctivities, entertainment, and community spirit, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display after dark.
The festivities will kick off early at 10 a.m. with a special showing of the classic film ‘Top Gun’ at the Washita Theater, followed by a screening of its blockbuster sequel “Top Gun: Maverick” at noon.
Starting at 4 p.m., Lee Park will come alive with a variety of activities including
• Food and Refreshments: Enjoy Delicious offerings form Vic’s Pit sStop food truck. The Chamber will also be selling hot dogs, chips, and a canned drink for just $5.
• Car Gathering: Join us at the top of 2nd Street for a casual car meet-up. Bring out your old or new cars and trucks, hang out with fellow car enthusiasts, and cruise around town as the evening sets in.

• 4 – 9 p.m. General festivities at Lee Park
• 5 p.m. The 1st Annual Cordell Airborne Paper Plane Flying Contest- Open to all ages, withal materials provided by the Chamber. Sign up now or on the day of the event.
• 7 p.m. Box Car Blitz (Box Car Races) for children ages 5 to 12. Sign up now or on the day of the event.
• 8 p.m. Freedom Fashion Contest under the pavilion. Show off your patriotic spirit in this dress-up contest, open to all ages. Please sign up with the Chamber before the event.
As night falls, head to Gregory Park next to the Municipal Airport for the grand finale- the Red, White, and Boom Firework Show. This dazzling display will light up the sky, providing a perfect end to a day of celebration.
