Another year of tradition with the Bessie Fire Department Pancake Supper Fundraiser

Enlighten your taste buds and enjoy an evening of pancakes, whole hog sausage, and a whopping helping of community support on Monday, March 4, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Bessie Gym located on the corner of Main and 7th in Bessie. The Pancake Supper and Whole Hog Sausage is the only fundraiser for the Bessie Fire Department that involves the firefighters and the entire community. All proceeds go directly to the department to help with necessary equipment purchases to ensure safety and allow them to serve their local and surrounding areas effectively. Ticket prices include adults, $13; children under 12, $7; and all to-go orders, $13. Drive-thru pickup will be available on the gym’s west side.

In addition to the annual pancake feast, the Bessie Fire Department is hosting two gun raffles to help raise additional funds that will aid in construction plans to build a new fire station to replace the current one, aged over 100 years - constructed in the 1920s.

The first raffle, $30 per entry, is for a Christensen Arms Mesa 6.5 Creedmoor 22” Bolt Action Rifle. The second raffle, $20 per entry, is for a Glock 19x9mm 4.02” 19rd Pistol. Chances to win the raffles will be available at the Bessie Pancake and Whole Hog Sausage Supper. If interested, contact a Bessie Fireman. The winner will be announced Monday, March 4, at 7:30 pm. The winner does not need to be present to win, but the winner is responsible for any applicable taxes and must arrange for pickup.
