Cordell’s 34th Annual Pumpkin Festival garnered huge crowds from all around to provide them all with a fun way to spend their Saturday.
The Pumpkin Festival had something for everyone of all ages to enjoy as the Cordell Chamber of Commerce event coordinator Sarah Lau worked tirelessly to pro vide activities even until the day before the event.
This year’s event kicked off with a 5k fun run put on by Riggs Nutrition after which attendants had the chance to peruse a multitude of vendors set up around the Square before the start of the festival’s parade.
Around the square, attendants could find food, paintings, plants, toys, clothes, and a variety of other things being sold throughout the streets.
If that weren’t enough, they could take a break to hop into the handmade train that roamed the streets with the kids, get the chance to pet a horse, stop to get their face painted, or even enjoy the car show.
Weather conditions this year forced the Cordell Fire Department to cancel their bounce house attraction for kids; however, the fire department got to end the night with their Haunted Morgue event that will continue throughout weekends in October.
Many residents expressed their gratitude towards Lau and the Chamber for the event, and they even shouted out their favorite attractions such as the “Rowdy” monster truck that festival attendees had a chance to ride.
While the fun and success from this year’s Pumpkin Festival may be over, the Chamber has already begun to plan for next year’s event.
“The Chamber would like to thank everyone that came out and supported the 34th Pumpkin Festival,” Lau said. “We are already planning next year’s to be bigger and better!”
