Cordell Memorial Hospital is excited to announce its Back to School Bash this Thursday, August 1st, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Washita County Activity Center. This event is a fantastic opportunity for families and children to prepare for the upcoming school year while enjoying a day filled with fun activities and essential health services.
The Back to School Bash is a community-centered event to ensure students are ready to start the school year on the right foot. With a focus on education, health, and safety, the event promises to be informative and entertaining for attendees of all ages.
Nutritional Education: Learn about healthy eating habits and how to pack a nutritious lunch that energizes kids throughout the school day. Nutrition experts will be on hand to provide tips and answer any questions.
Car Seat Inspections: Safety is a top priority! Trained inspectors will conduct thorough car seat inspections to ensure all seats are correctly installed and meet safety standards. This vital service is our commitment to protecting the youngest members of our community.
Games and Activities: The event will feature various games and activities to keep kids engaged and entertained. These fun-filled stations promote teamwork, creativity, and physical activity.
Free Water Bottles: Staying hydrated is crucial, especially during the hot summer and school year. Complimentary clear, reusable water bottles will be provided to attendees, encouraging kids to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Health Screenings: Health Screenings will be available. These screenings help identify potential issues early, ensuring students are healthy and ready to learn.
Backpacks: The event will distribute free backpacks to those who meet the approval criteria, ensuring students can start the school year with their necessities.
Vaccines: With the school year just days away, it’s the perfect time to ensure your child’s immunizations are current. The County Health Department Mobile Unit will be available on-site to provide vaccines to protect against common illnesses.
A Day of Community and Care Cordell Memorial Hospital’s Back to School Bash is more than just an event; it’s a commitment to community care and well-being.
The hospital and its partners and volunteers are dedicated to providing families with the resources and support they need to thrive.
“We are excited to sponsor with OFMQ, the 1st Back to School Bash for Washita County. CMH is partnering with Western Oklahoma Wellness to provide those things that can get a school year started right. The County Health Department will be here with their mobile unit to provide vaccines, which will help everyone be current on the required vaccines for school. We will be providing backpacks and water bottles to give to those who are approved for backpacks and need clear water bottles at school. “
“Other things that will be at the Bash are OBI for blood donations, fun activities for all ages of kids, a healthy cooking demonstration for healthy snacks, SWOSU for pre-diabetic screening, and car seat evaluations. “
“We have lots of information and activities for everyone: students, parents, teachers, and everyone of all ages in Washita County and beyond,” said Melinda Laird, CEO/CNO of Cordell Memorial Hospital.
All families in the community are invited to attend this free event. It’s an excellent opportunity to gather valuable information, access essential health services, and have fun with family and friends.
Take advantage of this fantastic day of community support and celebration.
