The local American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) Clinical Skills Competition was held on October 26 and 27. SWOSU School of Pharmacy had eight teams competing comprised of two students each, with representation from third-year and fourth-year students.
The winning team was Chaney Freese and Abigail Kliewer-Mills.
Both are fourth-year students.
2nd Place team: Trey Hon and Jacob Henson (both are fourth-year students) 3rd Place team: Makenna Rose and Brianna Pollard (fourth year.1 and fourth year.2, respectively).
The winning team will be awarded a “most-expenses” paid trip to Anaheim, CA, and will compete on the national level at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting in December; they will also receive a monetary prize. The second and third place teams will be awarded monetary prizes in varying amounts.
Dr. Nancy Williams, Dr. Tiffany Kessler, and Dr. Mark Gales coordinatied and judged the event.
