Glenna May Jones

Glenna May Jones, 84, a long time resident of Cordell, passed away with her family by her side on Dec. 24, 2019. She was born on Aug. 21, 1935 to Grady Evelyn Beatrice (Reis) Cothrum in Cordell.

Glenna grew up and attended grade school at Lincoln and high school in Cordell, graduating from Cordell High School in 1953. During her early teens she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized.

She married Lavern Jones on Sept. 28, 1953, in Cordell. To this union was born one daughter, Rhonda.

Glenna was a member of the Northside Church of Christ, she also served on the Election Board. She worked for the Kiwash Electric Company as a clerk. Glenna was an excellent seamstress and loved caring for her kittens, dachshunds and many other animals. She loved her family more than anything. Glenna will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughter Rhonda Gossen and husband Kervin of Yukon; grandson Jarod Lundy and wife Noel of Yukon; and great-grandson Dash McClain of Yukon.

Preceded in death by her parents Grady and Evelyn Cothrum; husband Lavern Jones; and two brothers, Hudson Cothrum and Cecil Cothrum.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home Chapel in Cordell, with interment following at Lawnview Cemetery of Cordell.

Visitation was from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell.
