Ethel Pearl Brence was born in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma on July 31st , 1931 to Jonah and Alice Foster. Her family later moved to a farm North of Gotebo, OK. She was the youngest child in her family of ten. She enjoyed playing, working and loving her family on the farm. She attended Lake Valley School.
She attended Oklahoma school for women in Chickasha, Oklahoma. In 1953 she married B.L. Brence, a U.S. Army solder from Fort Hood Texas. They spent many years traveling during B.L. 23 years of military service.After retirement they moved to Cordell, Oklahoma.
Her pride and joy were her children, Marshall, Gerald and Janice. She loved the time spent raising her children and going to all the activities they attended and just loving her family.
She enjoyed sports, sewing, gardening and cooking.
After her children graduated from college, B.L. retired from Houston Hulan John Deere and Pearl retired from Robertson Home Fashions and moved to Lawton, Oklahoma to be close to their children. They enjoyed traveling and visiting their children and families. Pearl and B.L. were married 65 years. She enjoyed doing church work at Central Baptist Church, where her and B.L. were members.
Ethel’s funeral will be held at 2pm on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Whinery- Huddleston Funeral Service 6210 NW Cache Rd. Lawton, Oklahoma. Her graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton immediately following the service.
