Cordell Esports is on fire this Spring, continuing its tradition of excellence across multiple competitive titles. Under the leadership of Coach Katie Love, the Blue Devils are once again showcasing their dominance in the Oklahoma Scholastic Esports scene.
"As the coach of Cordell Esports, I couldn't be prouder of our team's performance this year," Coach Love said. "After an incredible Fall season, we are once again proving why we are a force to be reckoned with in competitive gaming. Our players continue to rise to the challenge, demonstrating skill, strategy, and determination as we push through the Spring season."
Spring Season Standings as of March 31: Cordell at the Top
Cordell teams and individual players are currently holding top positions statewide in several titles: Chess: Aaron Canterberry leads the competition at #1, with teammate Cade Boecker impressively ranked #5. Rocket League: Team 1 (Matthew Rodrique and Aaron Canterberry) is firmly at #1 and proving to be the team to beat. Team 3 (Roberto Aguilar & Hunter Hamlett) is strong at #4. Team 2 (Jacob Bachelder, Luke Bryan & Dason Ramsey) rounds out the top ten at #10.
Rainbow Six Siege: Cordell's powerhouse squad—Cade Boecker, Tyler Canterberry, Bently Carter, Matt Fuller, Dason Ramsey, Matthew Rodrique, Gideon Thompson, and Tyler Webb—is ranked #1 and already setting the stage for what promises to be a deep playoff run. Multiversus: Hunter Hamlett is holding a strong #4 position, while Zackary Dobbs rounds out the top ten at #10.
Fall Season Recap: Titles, Trophies, and Top Performers
Cordell Esports' Fall season was nothing short of historic, with multiple standout finishes: Rocket League State Champions: Cordell's Rocket League Trios team secured the State Championship title in dominant fashion, winning the finals 2-0. Rainbow Six Siege State Runner-Up: After entering the State Tournament in fourth place, the team surged to a second-place finish, overcoming tough competition and solidifying their place among the State's elite. Super Smash Bros.: Cordell had three players finish in the Top 20 at State, with Hunter Hamlett placing 6th—a remarkable achievement for the growing program.
Coach Love expressed her optimism for the remainder of the season: "With our teams holding strong rankings, I have no doubt that we are on track to bring home even more titles this Spring. The momentum we have built is undeniable, and I fully expect us to secure a couple more State Championship wins before the season ends."
