The Cordell Blue Devils and Lady Blue Devils wrapped up their season at the OSSAA State Track Meet with several outstanding performances, personal records, and top-10 finishes while competing against the best athletes in Oklahoma.
Leading the way for Cordell was Calliy Walker, who earned a seventh-place medal in the 1600meter run with a time of 5:24.86. Walker also competed in the 3200-meter run, finishing ninth overall in 12:10.78.
Rylee Larsen turned in one of the top performances of the weekend for the Lady Blue Devils, placing fifth in the 400-meter dash with a personal-record time of 59.81 seconds.
In the 800-meter run, McKinley Moore recorded a personal-best time of 2:29.75 while finishing 13th overall.
Field events also saw solid performances from Bryton Yaegar, who placed ninth in the shot put with a throw of 43-05.00 and finished 11th in discus with a mark of 123-07. Meanwhile, Tralynn White tied for 14th place in the pole vault competition.
Cordell’s relay teams continued their postseason performances at state. The girls’ 4x400-meter relay team placed 10th overall with a personal-record time of 4:17.59. The same group also competed in the 4x800-meter relay, earning a seventh-place finish and another personal record of 10:21.87.
Coaches also expressed appreciation to the fans, families, and community members who supported the teams throughout the season and traveled to cheer on the athletes at the state meet.
