Blue Devils gain valuable experience at Regional Tournament

The Cordell High School boys golf team wrapped up its season at the Class 2A Regional Tournament held at Riverside Golf Course in Clinton. While the outcome wasn’t what the team had hoped for, the experience marked an important milestone as the Blue Devils competed together at regionals for the first time.

Leading the way for Cordell was freshman Jaxon Davis, who turned in an impressive performance by finishing 11th overall out of a field of 76 golfers. Davis was also the only freshman to place inside the top 20. He carded rounds of 84 and 79 over the two-day tournament.

Other golfers representing Cordell included Briggs Reeves, Conner Gregg, and Zayden Jones. Senior Corben Dobbs closed out his high school golf career on a high note, shooting a personal-best round in his final appearance at regionals.

Though the season ended in Clinton, the Blue Devils gained valuable experience and laid a strong foundation for the program’s future.
