April is Alcohol Awareness Month - time to raise awareness and understanding of alcohol use and misuse. There are 488 deaths each day in the U.S. due to excessive alcohol use, or more than 178,000 per year. That’s enough to fill the Rose Bowl twice.

COMMUNITY UNITY DAY IS SATURDAY!

The Washita County Coalition is excited to host Community Unity Day, a special event supporting local families. This event, which includes a Community Baby Shower, Resource Fair, and Drug Take-Back initiative, will take place on April 26, 2025, at the Washita County Activity Center in Cordell.

ROCKY RESIDENTS ELECT NEW TRUSTEES AT BIENNIAL MEETING

Two new trustees were elected and sworn in at the April 01, 2025 Biennial Meeting Jeannie Giambalvo was elected to fill the two-year unexpired term that expires in 2027. Wes Currier was elected to fill a four-year term that expires in 2029.

Easter Bunny hops into town this Saturday for event at Lee Park

The Cordell Chamber of Commerce will host its annual family-friendly Easter Eggstravaganza Saturday, April 19th at Lee Park in Cordell. This will be a rain-orshine event with an alternative plan in place in case spring showers follow the Easter Bunny to town.The fun will begin at 10:00 a.m.
