I am a PGA Member and have been in the golf business since 1971. Managed public, resort and semiprivate courses. My last job was in Elk City where I worked for 13 years before retiring from full time golf management.

April 16, 2025 Dear Editor, Thank you so much, I do love getting the Cordell Beacon each week. It has been a long time since my oldest daughter lived in Cordell with my parents JG Lovell and Zola May Lovell.I was born in Cordell but I grew up living in Cloud Chief.

Dill Work and Play OHCE members hold January meeting

The Dill Work and Play OHCE met Jan 14, in the Dill City Community Center, at 1:30, for the first meeting of 2025. Jane Shull called the meeting to order with the Salute to the United States Flag, led by Anita Clayton. Anna Pricket led the group singing The Little Brown Church.

Dill Work and Play OHCE News

The Dill Work and Play OHCE met to start sewing pillowcases for Foster Children on November 11 and 12 from 9 to 3 each day. Representatives from all Washita County OHCE groups met and finished 57 pillowcases and they will be given to Foster Children in the near future.

Washita County Farm Bureau

The Washita County Farm Bureau met Sept. 5, 2024, at 6:00pm, in the Farm Bureau Office in Cordell for the Annual , Resolutions, and regular meetings.The Board and Women’s Committee met together for a meal prepared by Made from Scratch in Cordell.

NSDAR

Regent Kay Hagerman called the Washita Chapter NSDAR to order on September 9 2025 with the chaplain Robetha Farris assisting. The group participated in the Pledge of Allegiance, The American’s Creed, A Patriotic Song, The Preamble to the Constitution and the Oklahoma Flag Salute.

Dill Work and Play

The Dill Work and Play met for a reg. meeting Sept. 10th, in the DC Comm. Center. Jane called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. Anna led the group singing “I’m An Old Cowgirl.” Anna then gave a treasurer report and collected money for projects.
