Blue Devil Basketball teams claim wins

This past weekend the Lady Blue Devils and Blue Devil Basketball teams traveled to Arapaho for the Western Equipment Classic. The girls started the weekend off with a hard-fought loss at the hands of the Amber-Pocasset Panthers.

Basketball has been in full swing for your Cordell Lady Blue and Blue Devils. The first game of the year, both teams traveled over to Minco. It was a rocky start for both squads as the girls fell 5110. Leading the way for the Lady Blue Devils was Freshman Birdie Brown. She had 6 points.

Cordell Wrestling season gets underway with tournament

The Cordell Junior High Wrestling Team started their season of strong with the Kingfisher Tournament on December 1st through the 3rd. The girls kicked off the tournament on Thursday, Dec. 1st, where Baylor Moore took home the Championship at 117.

The Cordell Blue Devils made the long trip down 183 to take on the Snyder Cyclones last Friday night. A dreary, rainy day turned into a long night as the rain continued to fall on us. From the time we pulled into Snyder until we left, we were drenched.

The Cordell Blue Devils played host to the Mangum Tigers Friday night at Blue Devil Stadium. Mangum came to town sitting in 3nd place in district play. The Blue Devils once again came in shorthanded and suited up only 13 players to start the game, and by half time, we were down to 12.

The Blue Devils ended our week on the wrong side of the scoreboard again Friday night. We traveled down to face the number two team in our district, the Apache Warriors. We went down short-handed and played the Warriors, on their homecoming, with 12 dressed out players.

Cordell 10U Softball team won first place in their End of the Season League Tournament in Clinton. They went undefeated in the tournament beating Clinton, Thomas and Carnegie (twice)
