The Junior High and High School soccer teams opened the season on Thursday, March 5, at home against Elk City.

The Junior High girls started the evening off by taking a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by McKinsey Gray. The Elk City girls tied it up a little later. Elk City got a late goal in the first half to lead at half 2-1. The Elk City girls scored 3 more goals in the second half. The Lady Devils had a few scoring opportunities but was unable to capitalize. The Junior High girls lost the match 5-1.

The Junior High boys played next, and they played a good first half. The Blue Devils had a couple of scoring opportunities but were unable to find the back of the net. Elk City scored a couple of goals in the first half. At halftime, Elk City led the match 2-0. Elk City scored two more goals in the second half. The Blue Devils were unable to get a goal in the second half and lost the match 4-0.

The High School girls ran into a very good Elk City team and found themselves down 4-1 at half. Kamdyn Davis scored the goal for the Lady Devils on a nice long shot. The Lady Devils had a couple of more chances to score in the second half but were unable to find the back of the net. Elk City scored 5 more goals in the second half. The Lady Devils fell to Elk City 9-1.

The High School boys played a very good Elk City team. The Blue Devils were unable to find any scoring opportunities. Elk City put 9 goals on the board in the first half. The game ended as the second half started when Elk City found the back of the net for a 10-0 victory over the Blue Devils.

The High School teams will be very busy next week. They travel to Oklahoma City on Monday, March 9, to face Mount Saint Mary’s in their first district match. On Tuesday, March 10, they travel to Chickasha for non-district match. The High School boys will face Star Spencer on Thursday, March 12, at home in a non-district match. The teams will travel back to Oklahoma City to face Harding Charter Prep on Friday, March 13.

The Junior High teams will face Altus at home on Thursday, March 12.
