Girls win district title, boys come up short

The Cordell girls basketball team claimed the Area 1 District 8 championship title with a convincing 45-29 win over Boone-Apache.

With the win, the girls improve to 9-10 overall and now get ready for regional action starting Thursday.

The girls play the winner of the Amber-Pocasset/Dibble game from Tuesday night (results unavailable as of press time). That match up will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Amber-Pocasset High School with a chance to play in the area round at stake.

The Boys basketball team lost a close one, 46-40, to Boone-Apache on Monday night.

The Blue Devils now have their work cut out, as they start in the consolation bracket and have to win out to advance to the area round.

The Blue Devils play the loser of the Amber-Pocasset/Dibble game from Tuesday night (results unavailable as of press time). That match up will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Amber-Pocasset High School.
