The Cordell Blue Devils have proven themselves to be quite the entertainers in yet another exciting game Friday night. The Devils played ferociously against the Minco Bulldogs, but came up short by two points. Despite the loss the boys put up an impressive effort, leaving no one disappointed.

The Bulldogs started strong, they pushed themselves close to the end zone, but were stopped by the Devils, leaving the score 0-0 in the first quarter.

Despite Cordell’s efforts Minco scored a touchdown early in the second quarter. The Devils continued to push hard but unfortunately failed to hold back the Bulldogs, allowing them to score another touchdown, followed by a field goal with 4:39 left in the quarter. The Devils went on to score two points for a safety tackle, which was followed up by the Bulldogs scoring seven points, Ending the half with a score of 20-2.

The Devils remained determined, storming back onto the field ready to win. Three minutes into the third quarter the Devils scored a touchdown, which was followed by a safety tackle from the Minco Bulldogs. As the quarter came to an end, a beautiful pass from Raydon Kuehne was caught by Bode Gallagher in the endzone, bringing the score to 22-14 with 2:05 left in the quarter.

Early on in the fourth quarter Gallagher caught another pass from Kuehne in the endzone, earning the Devils another six points. Cordell held the bulldogs for the remainder of the game. The final score of the game was 22-20, Devils being the latter. According to Head

According to Head Coach Zane Trammell, the boys have played debatably the two best teams in their district in the past couple of weeks, only coming up short by a combined three points.

Trammel is proud of the boys, telling The Beacon, “We are getting better every single week.” He said, “These kids played their tails off, making up for the fact that they were outmanned out front by an average of 60 pounds.”

The senior boys put in an exceptional effort according to their coach. Trammell specifically commended four senior boys for their performance, they are listed as follows in no specific order.

Raydon Kuehne, who played his best offensive game of the season, threw the ball well resulting in three touchdowns and made good decisions throughout the game. Dane Corbin and Adden Zanghi who both carried the ball well for their team. Bode Gallagher who played his best game of the season, caught two touchdown passes, remained dependable, and did everything asked of him.

With four games left in the season, the boys are continuing to work hard and plan on bringing home some wins very soon.

The Cordell Blue Devils will play their next game on the road against the Carnegie Wildcats; kickoff will be at 7:00 pm. The Cordell Cheer team encourages everyone to wear camouflage to this game to show your spirit while supporting our Blue Devil Boys.
