Basketball Season Tips Off With Annual Meet The Blue Devils Night

The season is finally upon us. Not the holiday season, although that’s here, too, but it’s time for basketball in Cordell!

The elementary and junior high school teams have already started playing, and the high school teams have been scrimmaging against some of their counterparts from other schools, but the season isn’t here until the annual Tip-Off Meet the Blue Devils Night in the Cordell Arena.

In addition to meeting the players and cheerleaders, the event featured fundraising and fun in support of the Blue Devils basketball program, including the traditional duck toss, games of “Gotcha,” and the annual player auction/shoot-out.

The high school season opened last night with the Blue Devils playing host to the Oilers of Merritt, which will be covered in next week’s issue of The Cordell Beacon.
