The Cordell Blue Devils football team’s season ended with a loss in the second round of the playoffs, but their strong showing netted the team several All-District A-2 honors.

All six seniors received honors, with Raydon Kuehne, Dane Corbin, Bode Gallagher and Adden Zanghi receiving MVP and Player of the Year honors.

“These boys are all very deserving of their awards, and have earned these honors,” coach Zane Trammell said. “Individual accolades only come after team success.”

Kuehne was named special teams player of the year.

“I’m thankful for the coaches that voted for me,” Kuehne said. “It feels good when the hard work you put in is recognized by others.”

Dane Corbin earned receiver of the year honors.

“Work hard, play hard,” Corbin said.

Bode Gallagher was named the district’s top tight end.

“I’m very honored for all of my hard work and time to be recognized in the reception of this award by all of the coaches throughout the district that voted for me,” Gallagher said.

And Adden Zanghi was the linebacker of the year.

“The first step forward toward your goals is the acceptance of the challenge with a positive mindset,” Zanghi said.

Gavin Jasmer earned first-team honors as a defensive end.

Five players earned second-team honors.

Senior Cameron Cochran (offensive line), junior Blaine Larsen (running back), sophomore Louis Lloyd (defensive line), sophomore JD Maddox (outside linebacker), and freshman Danny Corbin (cornerback) all took home honors.

Cale McCoy was named honorable mention for his work on the offensive line.
