Obituary: Danny R. Lenaburg 80, of Cordell

Danny R. Lenaburg, 80, of Cordell, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 24, 2020, at the Clinton Therapy and Rehab Center in Clinton. He was born on Sept. 30, 1939, to Ted and Ida (Becker) Lenaburg in Cordell.

Danny grew up and attended school in Cordell. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1964 and served during the Vietnam War. he was honorably discharged on Dec. 3, 1968.

Danny met the love of his life, Celia Daniels Robinson, and they married on March 10, 1983, in Vernon, Texas. They had three children, Cindy, Gerri, and Randy.

He worked for the City of Cordell as an electrician for many years and retired in 2001. He loved to woodwork, he was the jack of all trades. He loved taking his family to the lake and teaching them to water ski. Danny loved being with his family. Danny will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife Celia Lenaburg of the home in Cordell; children Cindy Froneberger and husband Scott of Cordell, Gerri Wilkey and husband Darren of Durant, and Randy Robinson and wife Gregg of Billings, Mont.; grandchildren Cody Froneberger and wife Ashley Fisher of Weatherford, Seth Froneberger and wife Kaytlin of Cordell, Trevor Wilkey and wife Emmy of Stephens City, Va., Chase Wilkey and wife Kassi of Durant, and Dustin Wilkey of Durant; and great-grandchildren Jasi, Piper, Koy, and Nolan.

He was preceded in death by his arents, Ted and Ida Lenaburg; sisters Lillie Winningham, Sylvia Hill, Cleo Jacobson, and Deloris Self.

A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at Strickland Cemetery in Cordell. From the stoplight go south on 183 1.8 miles, turn left on N 2240 RD go 3.3 miles.
