Memorial service for Clifford Harold Goodwin, 88 year-old Weatherford resident, will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Cliff was born April 24, 1932, to Warren and Mabel (Thomson) Goodwin in Foss. He spent his younger years in Burn Flat graduating with the class of 1952.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army and was battery clerk for his unit station in San Francisco, Calif.

During his military years he married his high school sweetheart, Daisy Mae Stanley. During his stay in San Francisco their son, Dennis, was born. He was discharged in Nov. of 1954, and his family returned to Oklahoma. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1958 obtaining his bachelor degree in education. He then moved his family to Imperial, Calif., and began teaching elementary. During his college and teaching years, four daughters were added to his family, Donna, Deborah, DeeAnna, and Doris.

He traveled back to Oklahoma during the summers taking graduate classes and obtained his master's degree in 1972. He taught in the same school district in Imperial for 29 years and retired in 1987. He and Daisy moved back to Oklahoma, settling in Weatherford where they enjoyed SWOSU's sporting events for the past 10 years.

Throughout their life Cliff and Daisy enjoyed travelling with their family, on long summer camping trips all over the U.S., Canada, and Laguna Mountains in California was a favorite for hiking, swimming, and day trips to San Diego beaches.

During Cliff's teaching career he coached Imperial High School baseball and softball. He was the official time clock keeper for basketball and football games. He taught R.O.P. classes, woodshop, and mechanical drafting in the high school. He was teacher and principal at the Westside Elementary School for three years.

Clifford passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, May 29, 2020, at his home in Weatherford with his family by his side.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy, of 67 years; four daughters, Donna Goodwin of Mustang, Deborah Schaffer of Burns Flat, DeeAnna and Murray Finegold of San Diego, Calif., and Doris and Miguel Munguia of Calexico, Calif.; grandchildren Adam, Desiree, and David Vindiola, Susann and Dil-lan Schaffer; great-granddaughter, Sophia; and great-grandson, Mason.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Mabel Goodwin; sisters, Gwen and Melba; son, Dennis; and grandson, Nicholas Camargo.
