April 14, 1961– Nov. 17, 2023

Monte Mason Hulin was born on April 14, 1961 to Mack and Joan Hulin and sisters, Rhonda and Pam.

He was the spoiled baby boy and he loved every minute of it.

One of his greatest childhood memories was when he was allowed to attend Kindergarten.

Sentinel was his home for several years with his family and friends until he went to Pauls Valley to learn how to read and write, do sign language and learn personal care skills, but he always made sure that everyone knew that his daddy taught him how to shave.

He used all those skills throughout his life and eventually learned how to use a computer and operate some electronics. After he returned to Sentinel to live with his parents, he became involved with Searchlight and eventually found another family that he loved and would thrive in an environment with other special needs adults that also wanted a better quality of life. He became a Hobart Bearcat and stayed a Sentinel Bulldog, proudly representing both communities by buying everything that had an emblem on it! Monte was part of the Searchlight family for 27 years. Monte’s life was not an easy one, but his biological and adopted families did what they could to make it the best life he could have. Monte’s greatest joys came in various activities like dancing, shopping, listening to good music, watching TV and playing games on his computer. He was a big flirt and tried to steal the hearts of many women along the way. Loving, compassionate, smart, funny, head-strong and ornery all rolled into one. The toughest guy you’d ever meet! Monte left this world on November 17, 2023 at the age of 62 to find his place in Heaven with his family and friends that went before him. Preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Joan Hulin; sister, Rhonda and brother-in-law Jay Thomas; great nephew, Boz Mac Sullivan and other family members Survived by sister, Pam Sullivan; nephew, Derik Sullivan (Carla Sullivan, Taylor and Aubrey Manning); cousins, Guynell Baird and Brad Jones and other family members.
