Mary Ellen Williams was born December 1, 1939 in Aurora, Colorado to Marie (Tiernan) and Walter A. Dick. She passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020 at her home in Canute, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 28 days.

Mary Ellen grew up moving around from military base to military base. Her family settled down at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma. It was here where she met Richard David Williams, Sr. and they were later married on June 20, 1959 at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma. They were blessed with five children; David, Julic, Doug, John, and Suzanne. Mary Ellen worked as a clerk typist at Tinker and later moved to Germany following Richard's promotion in the FAA. They returned to the U.S. and lived in San Antonio, TX, Burns Flat, OK and finally settling on their 5 acres south of Canute, OK. After being an administrative assistant for the FAA she opened the tag agency in Canute. It was here that many of the owners of the car dealerships in western Oklahoma came to know Mary Ellen and her work ethic. Mary Ellen was a devote Catholic and raised her family in the church and took pride in her faith, family and friends. She also enjoyed quilting, attending the women's guild, being a seamstress and being an avid reader of history. Later in life she always made time for her grandchildren and spending time with Zonelle them. Page 2

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard.

Mary Ellen is survived by her 5 children, David Williams, Canute, OK, Julie Williams, Stephenville, TX, Doug Williams and wife, Christy, Olathe, KS, John Williams and wife, April, Minco, OK and Suzanne Green and husband, Robert, Purcell, OK; 11 grandchildren, Anthony Williams and his wife, Samantha of Dublin, Texas, John A. "Drew" Williams, Tyler Williams both of Minco, Oklahoma, Zachary Williams and Timothy Williams both of Olathe, Kansas, Shannon Williams, Daxton Williams and Wyatt Conley all of Minco, Oklahoma, Jessica Fangman and her husband, Matthew of Waukee, Iowa, Katelyn Green and Matthew Green both of Washington, Oklahoma; brother in law, Robert Williams of Hickory, North Carolina; 2 great grandchildren, Lucas Williams and Leo Fangman; 2 brothers, Walter Tiernan and wife, Joan, Midwest City, OK and George Tiernan, Guthrie, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.

Prayer vigil services will be held Friday, September 4, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Burial will be held immediately following at St. Matthew Cemetery under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West.
