Mary Ann (Wright) Shockey, age 83, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, in Cordell, Oklahoma. She was born on December 31, 1940, in Pampa, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of James Doss and Mary Ruth (Kingery) Wright. Mary Ann’s early education was at Wilson Elementary School, followed by graduation from Pampa High School in 1959.

Her passion for learning continued as she completed a twoyear business course at Pampa School of Business in 1962. This laid the foundation for a successful career in accounting, during which she received numerous business and civic awards.

On her birthday in 1960, Mary Ann married the love of her life, Linville Glen Shockey, and their union was blessed with two children, Cindy Ann and Linville Scott.

Mary Ann’s life was marked by the love she shared with her family and the joy she found in creating memories with them.

Her professional and family life took her across many states, including homes in Hutchinson, Kansas; Pampa and Sunray, Texas; Yuma and Denver, Colorado; Stuttgart and Weiner, Arkansas; and ultimately Cordell, Oklahoma.

Mary Ann excelled in the handwork of crochet and needlepoint, earning numerous local and state awards for her crafts.

She also enjoyed the adventures of trout fishing. She took pride and enjoyed the farm life. Being of the Methodist faith, her life was a testament to her beliefs and values.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her beloved parents, J.D. and Mary Wright; daughter, Cindy Shockey; inlaws, Glen and Rae Shockey; brother, Jerry Wright; brother-in-law, Dale Shockey and other loved ones. She leaves behind her loving husband, Linville; son, Scott Shockey; daughter- in-law, Jammie Shockey; grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan and Scotty Shockey; siblings, Linda O’Neal and husband Harry, Shirley Greene and husband Lem, and Dee Wright and wife Wilda; brother-in-law, Joe Shockey and wife Kathy; sister-in-law, Jennie Wright; other relatives and friends who will forever hold her memory dear.
