Marjorie Bose passed on to rejoin family and friends on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of western Oklahoma.

Marjorie Marie Bose was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Bessie, Edward Johann Sr. and Margrete Bose. She was the eighth child of nine living siblings. She spent her first 12 years as part of a large family farming operation, harvesting wheat and raising cattle. As a small girl she quickly learned the skills necessary to feed and support those who ran the farm. At age 12 Marjorie lost her mother to cancer. She and her six year old sister went to live with her father’s sister, Mary Wagner and husband, Fred, of Clinton. Thus Marjorie closely identified with both the Bose and Wagner families.

Marjorie graduated from Clinton High School in 1958. She attended both OSU and SWOSU, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree and later a master’s degree in education. After completing her first degree she spent a year in Japan where she developed a great understanding and love of the Japanese culture.

Upon returning from Japan, Marjorie taught elementary school in Altus. Her career path would eventually lead her to work for the State of Oklahoma Dept. of Rehabilitative Visual Services.

In her spare time, Marjorie felt a strong desire to give back through volunteering in many organizations. Some of those include Weatherford Opportunity Workshop, Sorosis, Kiwanis, Habitat for Humanity, Friends for Life, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Weatherford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Sr. and Margrete Bose; her second set of parents, Fred and Mary Wagner; her brothers, Victor, Donald, Edward Sr., and Bob; her sisters Lucille, Yvonne; and infant sister, Anna Marie.

She is survived by one brother, Jim, and his wife, Brenda Bose of Stillwater; and a sister, Dolores Messick of Tulsa. Her 19 nieces and nephews will long remember the “always dependable” birthday cards and the wonderful chats over breakfast.

She had a great love for the care and treatment of animals. Her final wishes to others would be to support local efforts whose goal is in line with her love.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church in Weatherford.
