Marie Phelps

Marie Phelps, 105, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

She was born on October 11, 1918 to Major and Hattie Wade. She was raised on a farm north of Colony, Oklahoma where she lived with her parents and 3 siblings.

She married the love of her life, John Phelps, on January 4, 1941.

They shared 68 wonderful years together before his passing on July 7, 2007.

She enjoyed serving and being involved with her church family and giving of her time and resources. Family was most important to Marie.

She was a wonderful wife and was adored by her husband and dearly loved by her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; brothers, Virgil Wade and Jesse Wade; sister, Pearl Wade, and son-in-law, David Richardson. She is survived by: children, Johnnie Lynn Phelps of Weatherford, OK, and Janice Richardson of Granbury, TX; grandchildren, Greg Haley and wife, Susan, of Frankston, TX, Jeff Haley and wife, Rozlyn, of Missoula, MT, Sherri Anderson and husband, Brad, of Kemah, TX, and Kerri Kirby and husband, Kevin, of Weatherford, OK; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

She lived a long and blessed life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
