Larry Dean Holman passed away Sept. 10, 2019, at home with his sister Tonjua and niece Suzzi by his side, who were his caregivers for the last years of his life.

Larry was born July 5, 1940 in Cordell, Oklahoma to Harley and Dortha Holman, where he grew up until moving to Oklahoma City. There he graduated at Putnum City High School. He then married Sheila Mitchell and to this union was born 2 daughters, Rhonda and Shelley. Because his love of country, he decided to join the Navy, where he served for four years. He was always proud of his military service and often spoke of his adventures. He later met and married Jarene Graham, they were baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on the same day and found joy in begining their walk with the Lord. To their union was born three children, Dana, Delene and Larry II.

Larry had a passion for life; Shortly after returning from the Navy, He began a career in racing Super Modified cars at the OKC Fairgounds, where he bacame a Champion in the State for several years, winning many Championships. He went on to race with the “World of Outlaws” for a short time. Racing was one of the greatest joys of his young life!

Another dream was to live in Colorado, He loved the mountains and often called it “God’s Country”. He lived in Colorado for many years where he had a successful property management company at Copper Mountain. While in Colorado, he acquired his Real Estate Broker’s License and Private Pilot License. He owned his own Cessna Airplane and loved flying high above the mountains and making trips back to Oklahoma to see his family.

Later in life he moved to Arizona and went into RV sales, he loved travel and the open road, taking many more adventures including, motorcycle trips, and the yearly pilgrimage to the Indy 500.

He returned to Oklahoma to live out his years, close to family, friends and the brethren.

Larry is preceeded in death by his beloved parents, Harley and Dortha Holman and sister Kay Allen. He is survived by two brothers, Jerry and Terry Holman; two sisters De-Juania Spears and Tonjua Holman, five daughters: Rhonda Biggs, Shelley Biehler, Dana Cramer, Delene Nelson, and Sumere Herrera; and on son Larry Holman II; and a beautiful host of grandchilden, great-grandchilden, neices and nephews.
