JoEtta Sue Smith was born September 13th, 1972 in Cordell, Oklahoma to Velma Glea (Widener) Smith and Timmie Gene Smith. She passed away at her home in Cordell, Oklahoma on Sunday, January 28th, 2024 at the age of 51 years, 4 months and 15 days.

JoEtta, known by most as “Jodie”, grew up in Dill City where she graduated from Dill City High School in 1990. After graduation she began working as a vet tech for Dr. Sturgeon until she found employment in Hobart, Oklahoma at CR Industries where she continued for a number of years. She also worked for Freightliner in Clinton, Oklahoma where she worked on the assembly line building rescue and ambulances. In 2005 she was employed with Haliburton where she spent the next 10 years in the parts and purchasing department. After working at Haliburton, Jodie held various jobs at Alliance, Sooner Rubber, Flex Chem, Red Collar Pet Food Plant, and Bird Equipment. It was early in this time that she met the love of her life, Megan Malloy. Their relationship continued to grow and made it official in 2013. More recently Jodie worked at ACE Hardware where she was in the paint department a job that she took great pride in and enjoyed until her health forced her retirement. She enjoyed being outdoors, animals, working on vehicles, wood working, projects and fixing things. Jodie most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by Velma Glea Widener Smith Richardson and Timmie Gene Smith; grandparents Bertha Pope and Edgar Pope; sister- in-law, Tracy Smith.

She is survived by her wife, Megan, of the home; 2 children, Dalton Smith and wife, Brianna, Spokane, WA, and Tucker Malloy, of the home; Step-Dad, Kenneth Richardson; 3 siblings, Judy Ann Wilson, Russell Smith, and Corvin Smith; her parents in law, Mickey and Judy Malloy; 4 brothers and sisters- in-law, P.J. Malloy, William Malloy and companion, Dena Mackey, Mckenzie Leisher and husband, Clay and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
