Jo Ann Davis Robertson died on January 6, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. She was born January 8, 1933, to Joshua Stephen and Minnie Mae Rogers Davis in Gotebo, Oklahoma. Jo Ann married James McCarty Robertson on March 7, 1952, and to this union were born three children, Jim Jr., Jane Ann, and Joyce Ann.

Jo Ann graduated high school in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and also Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma, where she met Jim.

Jo Ann was a pastor’s wife, Sunday School teacher, youth leader, and homemaker. She was a Putnam City Baptist Church member in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Jo Ann always enjoyed the role of a housewife and was an excellent cook known for her homemade bread. Her bread made its way into many homes. She also enjoyed many various crafts including quilting. After Jim’s retirement and his interest in family research, she visited many county courthouses and cemeteries in search of family documents and gravestones. Jim and Jo Ann lived in Cordell, Oklahoma, for twenty-six years before moving to Oklahoma City. They enjoyed their motor home club trips and for nine years were volunteer summer campground hosts at Coyote Creek State Park in Guadalupita, New Mexico, and Sugarite Canyon State Park in Raton, New Mexico.

Jo Ann is survived by a son, Jim Jr. and wife Ricki of Yukon, Oklahoma, and two daughters, Jane Ann Haynes and husband John of Oklahoma City, and Joyce Ann Robertson of Oklahoma City; three grandsons, Chris Robertson and wife Kelli and their two daughters Molly Grace and Macy Kate, Craig Robertson and wife Amanda, and Ryan Robertson. Jo Ann is also survived by many cousins, relatives, and friends.

A graveside service was conducted at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell, Oklahoma, by Reverend Jim Gladney on January 10, 2024.
