Jesse Stephen Locke Jr., 87, of Cordell, passed away peacefully with his family by his side May 6, 2020, at the Cordell Christian Home. He was born on Sept. 22, 1932, to Jesse Stephen Sr. and Sarah Nellie (Scott) Locke in Lawton.

He was the oldest of eight children. Jesse grew up and attended school in Lawton. Jesse worked as a machine operator. In his spare time he enjoyed drawing, he loved to draw outdoor scenery, he loved puzzle books and putting jigsaw puzzles together. Jesse enjoyed gardening. He grew green peppers, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce. He also enjoyed being outside; he loved to camp and fish. Jesse also enjoyed to travel and look at the countryside. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his sister Sue Cochran of Cordell, brother Billy Ellis and wife Doris of Cordell; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse Locke and Sarah Ellis; sisters Jean Patton, Betty Arter, and Peggy Maddox; brothers Bobby Ray Ellis, Richard Locke, and Roy Ellis.

A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2020, at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell.

Visitation was from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2020, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell.
