Graveside services for Jeanne Yearwood, 73-year-old Colony resident, were held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Red Top Cemetery with Carol Waters officiating. Members of the Red Rock Mennonite Church in Eakly sang gospel hymns.

Lockstone Funeral Home directed the service. Jeanne was born February 19, 1947, in Muskogee to Joseph Stephen and Helen Mae (Bryce) McKinney.

She was named Ida Jenita after her grandmothers but was always known as Jeanne. She passed away Monday, February 1, at home in Colony. Jeanne grew up in Eufaula and graduated from high school there.

After attending college briefly, she went to work at the state welfare department in Oklahoma City in 1967.

Shortly thereafter, she transferred to the Oklahoma State Mental Health Department and worked as an accountant until her retirement in 1999.

Her husband began working at the department in 1979 and on February 9, 1980, they were married in Oklahoma City, where they made their home.

Their union was blessed with three children. Jeanne took great pride and joy in the children and seldom missed any of their scholastic and athletic events.

She was an excellent cook and made outstanding desserts for family get-togethers for many years. She loved watching cooking shows, Jeopardy, Antiques Roadshow, and OSU and OU sporting events. Although she moved with her husband to Colony in 2009, she never forgot her Eufaula roots and maintained a lake house there close to her brothers until last year.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 40 years, Lonnie of their home in Colony; one son, Andrew and his wife Mandy of Collinsville; two daughters, Emily Morrow and her husband James of Guthrie and Connie Finley and her husband Ryan of Ocala, Florida; two brothers, Bryce McKinney of Eufaula and Bob McKinney and his wife Brenda of Eufaula; and seven grandchildren. Jeanne is also survived by KoKo, her beloved dog who was on her lap or by her side for the past 11 years.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Colony Community in Action, Inc., P.O. Box 66, Colony, OK 73021.
