Helen Margaret (Corcorran) Gambrell was born March 28, 1923, at Burns Flat, to Daniel and Cloy (Pringle) Corcorran. She met her heavenly father on June 19, 2019. Helen passed away at Corn Heritage Village Nursing Home in Corn, with her children by her side.
Helen married George (Doc) Gambrell on Nov. 25, 1939, and was blessed with six wonderful children, three sons and three daughters: Leonard, Reba, Geary, Larry, Margaret, and Sharon.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband George (Doc); her parents Daniel and Cloy Corcorran; sister Ola Dean Schmidt and brother-in-law Lavern Schmidt; brother Billy Corcorran; and grandson Brian Gambrell.
Helen is survived by her six children and their spouses: Leonard and Lori Gambrell of Las Cruses, N.M., Reba and Gene Schmidt of Cordell, Geary Gambrell and friend Jerri of Oklahoma City, Larry and Leona Gambrell of Kingfisher, Margaret and Allen Demel of Elk City, Sharon and the late Joe Spradlin of Cordell; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; nine greatgreat grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild; one brother, Leland Corcorran and wife Jeanette of Hobart; sisters-in-law Wilma Reeves of Dill City and Dorothy Godsoe of Connecticut; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Helen’s memory to North Burns Cemetery in Burns Flat, Oklahoma or to Corn Heritage Village in Corn, Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Sentinel with interment following at North Burns Cemetery.
