David Allyn McCullough, age 83, of Mustang, passed away on February 5, 2024.

He was born on September 30, 1940, in Carnegie, OK, to Charles and Eunice (Bales) McCullough.

He graduated from Cordell High School. Later, after moving to OKC, he attended the Oklahoma State Institute of Technology in Okmulgee.

In 1959, he met the love of his life, Gloria Stewart, and they began dating. They later married on May 28, 1961, in Cordell.

The family spent many years in the Bethany area before moving to Mustang in 1982 where they spent their remaining years.

In his early working years, David worked as a surveyor and helped lay the road between Carnegie and Medicine Park.

In his later years, he began working as a furniture refinisher and started his own business, Dave’s Fine Finishes. He was proud of his work and was well-respected for his craft.

David was a hard worker, and he enjoyed being outside and tinkering around his workshop. He also enjoyed raising horses.

He is preceded in death by two children, David Jr. and Donna Kay; his parents; and two brothers, Rondell and Charles.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria of the home; his children Paula Broussard and husband Joe of Choctaw, and John McCullough and wife Kathi of Mustang; his brotehr, Lyndell McCullough of Elk City and sister Del Wanda Mccullough-Miller of Fort Cobb, two grandchildren, Casey McCullough and Kayley Smith and husband James, as well as extended family.
