Daisy Mae Goodwin was born on May 31, 1935 to Beulah and Bill Stanley in Washita county Oklahoma. She was raised in western Oklahoma where she attended high school in Burns Flat. She graduated in 1953 and married her high school sweetheart Clifford Goodwin that same year. Daisy and Clifford raised five children: Dennis, Donna, Deborah, Dee-Anna, and Doris.

Clifford’s career took the family to Imperial California where Daisy worked as an instructional aid in the Imperial school district and El Centro high school. They both retired in 1987 and shortly after relocated back to Weatherford Oklahoma. They remained happily married for 67 years until Clifford’s passing in 2020.

Throughout their lives, Daisy and Clifford enjoyed traveling with their family on long summer camping trips in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The family also spent most summers camping, hiking and swimming in the Laguna Mountains of Southern California, along with many side trips to the beaches of San Diego.

Daisy was an avid seamstress. She was known for making clothing for teachers and locals in her community. She made over 75 quilts and gifted many to friends and family.

Daisy passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023 in the home of her daughter DeeAnna in Carter Lake Iowa. She is survived by her daughters Donna, Deborah, DeeAnna, and Doris; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Daisy was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, son Dennis, and grandson Nicholas.

Services to be held in the Spring of 2024. Final resting place in Page Cemetery, Ok.
