Connie Karlene Broadhurst 58, of Cordell

Connie Karlene Broadhurst, 58, of Cordell, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Oct. 10, 2019, in Oklahoma City. She was born on July 25, 1961, to Earl Dean and Charlotte (Knauf) Schmidt in Cordell.

Connie grew up and attended school in Cordell, graduating from Cordell High School in 1979. After high school she attended OCCC and earned her nursing degree, she continued her education by taking online classes. Connie loved being a nurse, her specialty was chemotherapy, but she helped everyone in need. She loved attending Camp Hope in Montana, which, helped patients with ovarian cancer and in her spare time she enjoyed attending painting classes.

Connie loved her family, she will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved her, especially her pet companion Chloe.

Survivors include children Erin Hemken and husband Chris of Yukon and Jon Broadhurst of Okarche; granddaughter: Charlotte Hemken of Yukon; father Earl Dean Schmidt of Cordell; sisters Rhonda Schmidt of Cordell and Debbie Henderson and husband Craig of Stephens City, Va; nieces Katiana Holliday and husband Ray of Springfield, Mo.; Morgannah Wilcsek and husband Cory of San Diego, Calif.; nephews Tobias Kremeier and wife Rachel of Oklahoma City, Caleb Henderson of Stephens City, Va.; numerous cousins and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Schmidt; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019. The family welcomed guests from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home Chapel in Cordell, with interment at Sichar Cemetery in Cordell.
