Charles David Williams, 73, of Cordell, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 8, 2019, in Clinton. He was born on Feb. 21, 1946, to Virgil Price & Anna Mildred (Anderson) Williams in Hannibal, Mo.

Charles grew up and attended school in Missouri, graduating from Mexico Missouri High School in 1964. He enlisted in the United States Air Force right after high school. He served during the Vietnam era, and after being discharged he worked for Buck Merrill at Cordell Manufacturing Company as a welder.

Charles was a lifetime member of the VFW and was also a member of the American Legion. He loved his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife Janice Williams, of the home; son Matthew Williams and wife Tia of Yukon; sister: Joyce Jessie and husband of George of Columbia, Mo.; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Virgil P. Williams Jr.

A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell. Visitation was held from 3:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, and from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell.
