Carolyn Sue Heath, 77, of Yukon, formerly of Cordell, passed away peacefully on Sept. 24, 2019, at her home. She was born on June 17, 1942 to John Leo and Viola (Brubaker) Best in Elk City.

Carolyn grew up on a farm and attended school in Cloud Chief until she was eight years old then moved to Cordell and graduated from Cordell High School in May of 1960.

In the summer of 1959 Carolyn met the love of her life, Larry Heath, while hanging out at Karla’s Drive In. They were two peas in a pod and were engaged on Jan. 23, 1960. Carolyn and Larry were married on Sept. 6, 1960, in the First United Methodist Church in Cordell, Oklahoma. To this union was born two sons, Jamie Ray born in 1962 and Carey Dwane born in 1964. Carolyn could always be found supporting her kids in all of their activities, serving as Little League vice president, president of the Cordell Booster Club, and Cub Scout pack leader.

She spent most of her working life as an insurance agent, owning and operating her own insurance company, Farmers Union Heath Agency. Carolyn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cordell. In November of 2018 Carolyn and Larry moved to Yukon. She enjoyed traveling in their motor home, but most of all she loved being with her family. Carolyn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her

Survivors include her husband Larry Heath of Cordell; sons Jamie Heath and wife Leslie of Camden, N.C. and Carey Heath and wife April of Rocky; grandchildren Megan Heath, Treasure Heath, Zane Hendricks, Dallas Breeden, Amanda Breeden, Savannah Hendricks and Andy Medlin; great-grandchildren Xavier Breeden and Markus Medlin; and sister Helen Sheik of Weatherford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Johnny Best; and sister Pauline Edmunds.

Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell. Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Cordell, with interment at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell.
