Arlye Don Adams was born April 5, 1922 in Lockney, Texas to parents Homer and Harmon Adams. He went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 29, 2019, at Manteo, N.C.

Arlye graduated from Cordell High School and before his 21st birthday had enlisted in the service of his country, and has worked hard and served well, being Lt. Colonel at the age of 46. He has lived abroad and in Virginia, Arizona, North Carolina and other places during his career.

On Nov. 2, 1959, Arlye Don Adams married Bobbie, and after 60 years of marriage she faithfully followed him across the oceans and United States.

Arlye was a avid golfer and Bobbie became his avid partner. Arlye was known by all his brothers and sister from birth as a very determined little fellow, always trying to finish the task at hand regardless of sacrifice.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie of the home. Arlye had two children, Kenny and wife Melinda of Oklahoma City, and Mel and wife Bonnie of Kansas City, Mo. Arlye had four grandchildren, Elliott, Meredith, Elizabeth and Bryan Gordon.

Arlye was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Eddie,

Wayne, Joe and Homer; and three sisters: Lahoma, Helen and Joyce; and one granddaughter.

Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, at the 4th and College Church of Christ in Cordell, with interment following at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell.
