Washita County’s number of new positive COVID-19 cases is barely up over two weeks ago, figures from the Oklahoma State Department of Health show.

The total number testing positive in the county is now 1,064. It was 1,061 two weeks ago, an increase of only three. Three weeks ago the number was 1,057 and four weeks ago it stood at 1,054.

Of the 1,064 cases, 1,025 have recovered, the OSDH said. There have nine deaths in the county.

Of the positive 1,064 cases, Cordell has the most with 325. Of the 325, there have been 314 who have recovered. Two weeks ago there were 324 positive cases. Of those, 313 had recovered.

Cordell has one of the nine deaths in the county.

Burns Flat, which had 143 positive cases two weeks ago, now has 145. It has the second highest number in the county. Of those, 139 have recovered, the OSDH said.

Burns Flat also has one of the reported deaths in the county.

Canute has 135. The number two weeks ago was 133. It has the third highest number in the county. Sentinel has 110. Of the 135 in Canute, 128 have recovered and 107 have recovered in Sentinel.

Sentinel also has one of the deaths in the county attributed to COVID-19, the OSDH reports.

Other communities in Washita County reporting positive cases and the number recovered include: Dill City 65 and 65; Rocky 37 and 36

Ṡtatewide as of Monday, 437,853 people have tested positive, there have been 4,850 Oklahoma deaths and 419,693 who have recovered. Active cases stand at 10,906, the OSDH said.

The OSDH reports more than 3,338,772 people have tested negative.
