The number of people in Washita County testing positive for COVID-19 rose again some during the past week, the Oklahoma State Health Department reported.
The total number testing positive in the county is now 195. It was 181 a week ago, an increase of 14 over last week. Two weeks ago the number was 154 and three weeks ago it was 128.
Still, as of Monday of this week, no deaths attributed to the virus have been reported in Washita County, according to the OSDH.
On Aug. 21, the number of people testing positive in Washita County stood at 37.
Of the 195 positive cases, 160 have recovered, the OSDH said.
Cordell has reported 49 positive cases, the most in the county. Of those, 44 have recovered. Last week there were 46 positive cases. Of those, 36 had recovered.
Burns Flat, which had 32 a week ago, now has, 37, the second highest number in the county. Of those, 27 have recovered, OSDH said.
Canute still has 29, the same as last week and Sentinel has 19. Of the 29 in Canute, 21 have recovered and 17 have recovered in Sentinel.
Other communities in Washita County reporting positive cases and the number recovered include Dill City 11 and 11; Rocky 10 and 10.
Statewide the number of positive cases has climbed to 125,195. Last week the number was 117,399. There have been 1,354 who have died in Oklahoma due to the virus. A week ago, 1,251 deaths had been attributed to the virus, the OSDH said.
As of Monday, there were 15,948 active cases throughout the state and that number was 15,791 at the same time a week ago.
There have been 107,893 who have recovered from the virus in Oklahoma, up from the 100,357 last week. On Monday, the OSDH reported 1,084 new cases and nine new deaths.
There have been more than 1.4 million people in the state who have tested negative, according to the OSDH.
