The number of people in Washita County testing positive for COVID-19 stands at 64 and that’s an increase of 18 over a week ago. Last week the number was 46.
In the last month or so, the number of people testing positive has increased 24. These are the numbers as provided by the Oklahoma State Health Department through Monday of this week.
The number of positives a week ago stood at 43, so there have been only three more testing positive in the county in the past week.
There have been no deaths in the county attributed to the Coronavirus, the OSDH reports. Of the 64 positive cases, 42 have recovered, OSDH said.
Cordell has reported 15 positive cases. Last were, there were12 positive cases, the most in the county. Of those, 11 have recovered.
Burns Flat still has recorded the second highest total number of positive cases with 14 and 11 have recovered.
Other communities in Washita County reporting positive cases and the number recovered include: Dill City 7 and 5; Sentinel 6 and 4; Canute 9 and 2; Rocky 1 and 1. Last week, Canute had 3 positives and 2 had recovered.
Statewide the number of positive cases has climbed to 77,908. There have been 948 deaths attributed to the virus, the OSHD said. That number of positives was 70,223 a week ago with 853 reported deaths caused by the virus at that time, according to OSDH.
There are active 12,019 cases throughout the state as of Monday and that number was 10,311 at the same time a week ago. There have been 64,941 who have recovered from the virus in Oklahoma, up from the 59,007 last week.
