The number of people in Washita County testing positive for COVID-19 stands at 43 and that’s an increase of only six in the last 2 ½ weeks. These are the numbers as provided by the Oklahoma State Health Department through Monday of this week.
There have been no deaths in the county attributed to the Coronavirus, the OSDH reports. Of the 43 cases, 39 have recovered, OSDH said.
Cordell has reported 12 positive cases, the most in the county. Of those, 10 have recovered.
Burns Flat has recorded the second highest total number of positives cases with 11 and all 11 have recovered.
Other communities in Washita County reporting positive cases and the number recovered include: Dill City 5 and 5; Sentinel 4 and 4; Canute 3 and 2; Rocky 1 and 1.
Statewide the number of positive cases has climbed to 64,520 with 853 reported deaths caused by the virus, according to OSDH.
There are 9,953 active cases throughout the state and 53,414 have recovered from the virus in Oklahoma.
