Council Takes No Action On City Vehicle Use Resolution
Cordell’s newest council member, Lowell “Buddy” Holman, was sworn into office during Tuesday’s regular meeting of the city council. Holman was appointed by the council during a special meeting Friday, Feb. 14, 2020.
During the meeting, the council considered a new resolution which would modify the city’s current policy regarding the personal use of city vehicles, part of a package of changes proposed by council president Steve McLaughlin. The resolution would have prohibited the personal use of city vehicles and allow only police officers to to take city vehicles home at night. It also included provisiions regarding the proper marking and use of city vehicles.
The resolution died as no member of the council was willing to make a motion to adopt it.
