Washita County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting Held Sept. 11

The Washita County Farm Bureau held an annual meeting and county resolutions meeting Sept. 11, 2019. Snacks were served an an opening prayer given.

Larry Peck called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. Pledge to the US and Oklahoma flags were given. Dwayne Schneberger read the minutes from the 2018 meeting.

The board, Women’s Leadership Committee, and all present were given an end of year report. The Farm Bureau State Convention meeting was discussed and Washita County Farm Bureau will send delegates. Plans on activities for the convention were given and Washita County will take a silent auction gift.

County resolutions were discussed and will be sent the the State Resolutions Committee.

The women dismissed and went to a women’s meeting. They had a thought for the day and everyone was reminded of kindness and care to others. Minutes from the last meeting were read. A report from the district meeting in Hobart was given, Washita had five members present. Plans for the Washita Ag Day were made. It will have programs to help sixth graders learn more about agriculture. It will be held sometime in November when convenient for county schools. A report was given on book day and Washita County had several readers.

The Washita County Farm Bureau held an open house from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with refreshments and visits from visitors.
