Cordell’s cross country runners hit the field at Riverside last Saturday, with the boys running a 5K (3.1 miles) race and the girls running 3200 meters (2 miles).
Kobi Cameron finished at the top of Cordell’s girls, completing the course in 18 minutes, 17 seconds. Jayla Smith finished at 19:49.
On the boys’ side, Brady Reimer finished at 23:50, followed by Ryan Neeley at 25:29 and Aaron Gunning at 27:38.
“This is by far the most difficult course we will run all season,” said coach Steve Smith. “It’s sandy, it’s hilly, and it’s hot. It’s basically a test of a runner’s will. I was proud of all my runners, they gave a great effort under some grueling conditions.”
