Just the thought of this hospital closing breaks my heart. If it were not for the Cordell hospital I would be a widow now.

Dr. Bob Abernathy, Dr. Darrell Hill, and the nursing staff have saved my husband’s life at least three times in the last three years.

As a former lab tech. at other hospitals, please let me tell you about the staff at this hospital, there is not a “dog” among them. You can feel the warmth, love, compassion, and professionalism upon stepping through the door, whether it’s in the reception area or the emergency room.

I encourage all residents of Cordell and the surrounding area to go visit with this hospital staff and administrator. Find out for yourself just what a jewel you have right here in Cordell. Bigger is not always better. This hospital may be small but the services available are huge.

My husband’s main doctor is in Mustang, but he is affiliated with St. Anthony Hospital and treats patients by telecommunication. The nurse brings the equipment to your room, hooks it up, and you are face to face with your doctor. You are able to communicate with him. He can listen to your heart and with the help of the nurse he is able to examine you.

In an emergency seconds and minutes count. Transporting you to Clinton or Weatherford couls cost your life! This price is too high. Cordell hospital can stabilize you and Medi-flight you on to the appropriate facility if necessary.

I ask you to go to the hospital and just see how many specialists are available that are affiliated with the Cordell hospital.

Please vote “Yes” on Sept. 10, 2019. The life you save may be your own or a family member. What’s a penny more in taxes? How many folks do you know that would stoop over and pick up a penny on the ground?

Carolyn Hatfield,

Eakly
