Cashion Woman Tased and Arrested After Fleeing Police Debra Hamil, a 65-yearold woman, was arrested in Cashion after refusing to sign a ticket for a broken taillight and then fleeing police. After a four-minute chase, she stopped and then apparently resisted arrest and assaulted the officers.

Cordell Football Meet The Players Set For Aug. 15

The time has come for Cordell football’s annual Meet the Players and pie auction event. The festivities will kick off at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Cordell football stadium. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on pies, which will then be smashed into the various players’ faces.

Masks, Modern & Music In Colony Aug. 17

On August 17, 2019, Colony Community in Action, L.L.C., will host a preview exhibition of works to be displayed at The Sovereignty Symposium 2020 by Oklahoma Artists, Patrick Riley and Jim VanDeman. The exhibition will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm in the Kauger Building in downtown Colony, Oklahoma.

Vivian Majors spent her life cleaning houses while her husband, Martin, worked as a carpenter. Their bodies broke down in their 60s. Martin now lives in a nursing home and has Parkinson’s disease. Vivian, now 71, lives on her own and ekes by on a $960 in social security, plus $50 in food stamps.

A bipartisan team of senators on July 23 introduced a bill to repair a gaping hole created by the U.S. Supreme Court in June that keeps food stamp payments to retailers secret. The Open and Responsive Government Act, S 2220, is offered by Sens.
